State Police across the country urge all motorists to wear their safety
restraints, drive sober and obey speed limits and other traffic laws during
the upcoming Memorial Day holiday travel period.
"State troopers will be out in full force, as visible reminders to drive
safely during this important weekend," said NY State Police Superintendent
James W. McMahon. "They will enforce traffic laws and assist motorists, paying
particular attention to safety belt and child restraint violations."
Drivers are reminded that all passengers are required to wear seat belts
or be secured in approved child safety seats or restraints.
