Thanksgiving. More miles are driven on Thanksgiving
Day than any other day in the year. Law enforcement agencies across the country
- over 10000 of them - will be out and about, enforcing occupant protection
laws. To protect yourself and your passengers including any pets you are
transporting with you - be sure to buckle up!
Here are some ideas from us and from other sites across the web to help
make your holiday a safe and happy one!
You
Be the Detective Thanksgiving Place Card Game:
Rather than names on homemade place cards, have your kids create safety
tip questions and answers.
Each safety question has three parts - the question, the clue, and the
complete answer. The clue can be a partial answer or an actual clue
that you create depending upon the age level of your guests. What works
well as a clue for younger children is the answer with missing first
letters of each word. (See safety tip example.)
People will pick up the name cards and will play this game simply because
it's there, and kids love it. Handprints work well as placecards. Fold in
half. Write your safety question on the front. Write your clue on the inside.
Write the complete answer on the back.
